Debits and Credits (Palmyra Classics)

Debits and Credits (Palmyra Classics)

"Debit and Credit" (1926) is a late collection by the English writer Rudyard Kipling - a kind of "literary account" - consisting of short stories, poems and two scenes from an unfinished play. It concludes a dark period in Kipling's life, when the writer was seriously ill and grieved over the death of his only son in the First World War. Kipling writes about religion, Freemasonry, literary creativity, war, death. And yet, despite his decadent mood, he looks forward to the future with hope and, like the hero of one of the stories - an elderly matador, enjoys "the wonderful hour of dawn returning to gild the sunset." Unadapted edition in English. Ko'proq ko'rish
